Regarding the other address you asked about: SE 21st between Tenino and Tacoma appears in the Digital Sanborn Maps from 1950 (vol 10, sheet 1084). On the corner there is a house with an address of 2033 SE Tenino (755 E Tenino before 1933). Next to it is a house with the address 8125 SE 21st, then there are two empty lots, then Tacoma. Crystal Springs creek runs along the block on 21st.

A woman named Mrs. Rose Rusis lived at 8125 SE 21st until 1963 according to Polk’s city directories. After that the address disappears, so it was probably torn down and became the duplex you see today. According to an article in the Historical Oregonian database (Pedestrian dies following fall, 4/1/1948, p. 12), Rose’s brother Alexander Buckmeyer lived there for at least a little while as well. He died suddenly at age 36 due to a fall.

There is a death notice for Rose Rusis in the 11/30/1980 Oregonian, p. 85. There is also an obituary for Pete Rusis of this address in the 10/22/1960 Oregonian, p. 14. He died on 10/20 of that year. It says he was Rose’s husband and had two brothers and one sister in Greece.

Before Pete and Rose Rusis lived there, it appears that Rose’s mother lived in the house. There is an obituary for a Maggie Fachini of this address published 7/30/1942, p. 12. It says she was Rose’s mother and had many siblings in Saskatchewan, Canada. The Polk’s City Directory lists Pete and Rose at 814 E. Burnside in 1943 so perhaps they moved into the house after Rose’s mother died.

According to the 1940 census, accessed through Ancestry Library Edition database, Maggie Fachini of this address was born in Russia and married Joseph Fachini.
